SCHOOL OF WOM 2011 – a social networking masterpiece !

May 26, 2011 8 comments

Turns out that people not only like to talk but also to Poken. These two social activities combined transform a regular event into a social networking masterpiece! This happened recently during the last School of WOM Event held in Chicago where mainstay companies such as Pemco Insurance, GAP, and Intuit gathered to reveal and discuss the importance of the “word of mouth” strategy.

Kelly (WOMMA) and Denny (Poken US)

The event was organized by WOMMA a nonprofit organization that advances and advocates the discipline of the credible word of mouth marketing.  WOMMA is a community of marketers that meet and strategize on best practices as it relates to customers talking online and offline about various brands.

The recent School of WOM Event was a smashing success, enhanced big time by Poken. Yep, once again Poken was the key tool that generated a word of mouth buzz. Poken was sponsored by Nology Media who is a content publishing, measurement and marketing agency that uses social media tools and platforms to intimately connect brands with their audiences.

Hi-Four from “Summit at Sea”

May 11, 2011 3 comments

We are posting this news a bit late (as the event was held beginning of April), but it took our team quite some time to recover. Simply look at the picture below to know what we’re talking about! :-)

Is that a waterproof poken ?

Poken recently had the privilege of  attending the invitation only Summit at Sea gathering of leading edge entrepreneurs, innovators, artists and philanthropists.  Over 1,200 of a new generation of leaders sailed off to a private island to connect, explore ideas, and create new partnerships and friendships.

Because Poken is acknowledged as the new breakthrough technology to streamline and encourage Social Networking, we were selected as the tool to connect all of the attendees of this incredible gathering.

Who said you can’t make great collaborations happen while having fun ?

Hi-Four from the Hi-Seas!

Poken included in MCI’s Annual Meeting of Worldwide Event Planners !

January 31, 2011 2 comments

In December, 500 MCI event managers gathered in Istanbul (Turkey) for MCI’s International Business Meeting. With offices in 44 cities around the Globe, MCI is one of the leading global association, conference and event management groups. This annual meeting was the perfect opportunity for event managers to meet, get motivated, deepen existing connections, and catch up with the newest members of the team in a 2-day vibrant setting.

To enhance the networking experience, each attendee received an MCI branded pokenSPARK  pre-registered with their contact details.  Before the event, when logging in to the Poken member hub, the participants could see who among their LinkedIn contacts would be attending. Post-event, when they connected their poken, a fully MCI-branded website with digital networking dashboard allowed them to sync their contacts with other contact management software such as SalesForce or Outloook, to view pictures taken during the event, and to download the event’s presentation material.

Poken at the Abu Dhabi Media Summit (March 9-11, 2010)

March 25, 2010 3 comments

Stephane and Dome at ADMS

About two weeks ago, Poken’s CEO Stephane and myself, from the Marketing Team, flew to the United Arab Emirates to support the distribution of pokens at the prestigious Abu Dhabi Media Summit (ADMS). The exclusive 3-day summit was an invitation-only event and welcomed about 400 chairs, CEOs and major business unit heads from the world’s top-tier media players as well as their new-market counterparts. The event organizer publicisLIVE had chosen Poken as their networking partner and provided all participants with an ADMS customized poken on their badge.

Besides the incredibly exotic venue at the Yas Hotel, Stephane and I were excited about the incredible line-up of speakers at the event: Eric Schmidt of Google, Rupert Murdoch of the News Corporation, Maurice Lévy of the Publicis Group and Josh Silverman of Skype, just to name very few.  The focus of the event was the challenges and opportunities rising from an increasingly globalized media landscape as well as the advent of new technologies and their effect on traditional media.

Lift Social Business Card

Big news folks! Today we are introducing our first service offering, called pokenEVENT!

A pokenEVENT is a customizable event package that includes a mix of physical devices (pokens), a branded social business card, a branded networking platform (the Poken Member Hub), full post-event analytics, and more.

We built pokenEVENT specifically for event organizers, and the equation is simple: Poken improves networking at the events and helps them stand out in a crowded event space. Improved networking = greater customer satisfaction. The result: Increased repeat attendance, stronger word of mouth, and an additional compelling sponsorship opportunity!
