Sour CHHOR joins Poken as Chief Strategy Officer

How will Sour help make Poken even greater ? Let’s put it this way – Sour is one the founders of Near Field Communication (NFC). NFC is the technology built inside every single Poken that we sell. You may not know much about NFC (yet), but you will hear about it a lot over the next few years. In addition to these obvious benefits, he will bring us more than 20 years of experience in the high-tech industry!
In his new role, Sour will be directly responsible for helping to define Poken’s overall business strategy and developing new business opportunities.
Previously, Sour was General Manager of the smart card and NFC businesses for Philips/NXP Semiconductors for which he launched NFC in cooperation with Sony in 2002. Then in 2008, he became Executive Vice President Strategy, Marketing, Product Management & Engineering at SCM Microsystems, a position where he elaborated the company strategy and led a 110 people team including VPs and Region President. He has held a variety of management positions — and has wide professional experience — including marketing, sales, research and development roles in the consumer electronics, telecom and broadband Internet industries. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from the University of Technology in Cachan, France and an MBA from HEC School of Management in Paris, France.
